Valentino are following in the footsteps of Lanvin’s recent deal to design for H&M and have just announced that for the coming Autumn/Winter 2010 season they will be joining forces with international fashion chain GAP to design a capsule womenswear range.
This is the fashion house’s first foray into the world of high street fashion and it is definitely one that is prompting waves of excitement through the fashion industry. Valentino is a label that is best known for its high glamour, high luxury catwalk and couture shows. This collaboration with high street giants GAP will give people a great opportunity to buy a taste of luxury from one of the world’s most glamorous brands.
However, there will still be an element of exclusivity about this collaboration. The Valentino for GAP collection launch will coincide with the opening of GAP’s new flagship store in Milan in November. The collection will then be rolled out to Dover Street Market in London, Colette boutique in Paris, as well as GAP’s London flagship store. With no nationwide distribution, you’ll have to be a canny shopper to avoid missing out on this collection.
